Saltwater Records
A record label site that plays back when you scroll.
01Introduction
Saltwater is a concept site for an independent label releasing ambient and electronic records.
02The challenge
The challenge
Streaming platforms flatten every release into the same square. The label wanted each record to feel like a place you could visit.
03Creative direction
The idea in one move.
Every release gets a generative waveform landscape seeded from its audio. Scrolling moves you through the record, and the type breathes with the music.

04Design exploration
Studies before decisions.
Studies included tide charts, oscilloscopes and topographic lines. The topography direction carried across all releases with one shared engine.
05Development and implementation
Built to the same standard as it looks.
A shader-based landscape driven by pre-computed audio features, with a lightweight static fallback and full keyboard control of playback.
